New Notice From HUD/REAC
Because many HUD/REAC inspectors also double as FEMA inspectors, some of you who have inspections currently scheduled will likely experience cancelations as these inspectors head off to TX and FL. These postponements and/or cancelations are likely going to take place throughout the nation as FEMA pulls inspectors from every state.
Message from HUD/REAC to REAC Inspectors (in part):
“REAC/FEMA inspectors may reschedule any/all scheduled inspections”
“We will allow extensions up to 90 additional days to complete inspections”
“We will allow for alternate inspectors to complete scheduled inspections”
“Inspections can be canceled without penalty to inspector”
“For inspections not yet scheduled, they may be marked ‘uninspectable’”
In summary, there is likely to be many inspection schedules changed or canceled with little to no notice to the property. If you are currently scheduled, I suggest you contact your inspector to verify he/she is still planning to complete your inspection.
DUNS Number Required on All Voucher Submissions – NEW INFORMATION AS OF 7/31/17! ALL DECEMBER VOUCHERS MUST HAVE A DUNS NUMBER, SO DON’T WAIT!!
This memorandum ( https://goo.gl/PL8AxZ ), dated June 2, 2017, implements the requirement to include the Dun & Bradstreet’s (DB) Data Numbering System (DUNS) Numbers on all vouchers submitted to Tenant Rental Assistance Certification System (TRACS). Effective December 1, 2017, approximately six months from the date of this memorandum, vouchers that do not contain an active DUNS number will generate a Tenant Rental Assistance Certification System (TRACS) fatal error and will not receive payment until corrected.
